How to change the chamfer angle on a drilled hole
Can someone explain to me how to set the chamfer angle on a drilled hole? It appears to be 100 degrees by default, but another common value (which I need at the moment) is 82 degrees.
How to change the chamfer angle on a drilled hole
Dear Mr. Cottingham,

the chamfer created using functions such as "Hole" (command hol) or "Threaded Hole" (command thh) has an unchangeable angle that is 90 degrees. In order to create chamfer with specific angle, function "3D Chamfer" (command ch3) must be used once the hole is drilled without chamfer. You will have to use goniometric function tangent. For example, you need to chamfer 10mm axially with a peak angle 82 degrees. Then enter 10 in the first column and 10*tan(41) in the second. Those 41 degrees are there, because you are entering half the peak angle.

When Shift key is pressed and hold down when in no function, VariCAD detects edges on solids. Those edges can be selected with left mouse button and then in order to initiate chamfer or fillet function hit right mouse button.

You could also draw cone using the Sketching in 3D function (command drp), taking advantage of drawing the exact chamfer you need at the particular place. Then just subtract the cone from your solid using Boolean operation. While this procedure may be easier for you to wrap your head around, it certainly is not faster.

I hope this helps, good luck!
